1998Joined the Southern Crown Forces.The KOP/NCV is "awarded" (via the Revlist) the Paul Pace Memorial Authenticity Award after an event at Staunton, VA by Paul Pace of the 42nd Rgt Light Company. He writes: "Their kitchen area used two forked sticks in lieu of fire irons, tin cooking kettles, no fly, and a beat-up shovel for a frying pan. Their townsmen clothes impression is also refreshing in these days of militia units being made up frequently of so many long hunters." Membership level: 13 members. |
1999Joined the Brigade of the American Revolution.Became a charter unit in the Southern Department of the Brigade of the American Revolution. Joined with other regional units to form the Southern Crown Forces Association to acquire affordable insurance coverage through the Living History Association. Acquired Federal Tax Exempt status. The "Sassy Sow" makes first appearance. The King's Own Patriots goes online (with its own website). |
